God's bus stop

Waiting! It can be so frustrating, it can be the most annoying thing in the world. Yet we all have to do it. Sometimes we spend too long doing it. Sometimes we waste are time waiting.
While we're waiting we can become envious of others who are first in line. Like waiting at the doctors you can become annoyed that there is such a long queue in front of you. but one of the most annoying things is waiting in a queue of traffic and you look around at all the people in the other cars and you see how frustrated they get, how angry and annoyed they are because they are having to wait.

However waiting on the Lord is sometimes the same. We pray for people, we pray for answers, we pray to know His will, His plan, we wait for blessings, we wait for Him to lift us up out of the pit or a situation.
We can wait in two different ways when we are waiting on the Lord. We can choose to wait like when we stuck in traffic or waiting for a late bus. We can choose to be come frustrated at God, even angry at Him because God is making us wait. We can choose to lose our focus, even to doubt and lose faith, because what we think we want or need isn't given to us quick enough.
Or we can choose to wait patiently, with hope in God to provide, to have faith and focus on the One who knows what is best, who knows the right time for everything, who's plans are to prosper not to harm.
When we wait like this we might not what we are waiting for, for a very long time, but we must remember whom we are waiting on- the Might One who created both Heaven and Earth. That nothing that we can do will change when we get what we are waiting for. It is completely out of our control and we should allow God to have complete control and trust that He will give what we need.
We also need to be STILL when we wait. Not necessarily physically, sometimes we do need to stop and physically be still, but also emotionally and spiritually still.
Like waiting at a bus stop if we wonder here, there and everywhere, won't we stand a chance of missing the bus. So it is with God' bus stop, we must be still and wait at His bus stop, so we don't miss his bus.
You know the saying, 'you wait all day for a bus and three come along at once.' Well I guess that this is sometimes true for God as well. Sometimes we wait for years and then lots of what we are waiting for all comes along at once, when we least expect it.
But, oh , how good it is when we see that what we have waited for has been given- it has been worth it and how great God is when He blesses us for are patient waiting on Him.

31 But they who wait upon the Lord will get new strength. They will rise up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weak.
